For data engineers / ML engineers, the GCP path (ACE → Pro Data Engineer or Pro ML Engineer) generally seen as more relevant than AWS. BigQuery, Vertex AI, Dataflow expertise highly valued.

$125 fee + 2-year recert. Cheaper than AWS / Azure equivalents. Some find GCP exam questions less ambiguously-worded than AWS — direct technical knowledge testing rather than "best practice" debates.

Recurring tip: the exam tests CLI commands (gcloud) and console flow more than concepts. Hands-on labs in Qwiklabs / Google Cloud Skills Boost critical. Free $300 GCP credit covers personal lab work.

Strong cert in GCP-aligned shops (data startups, ad-tech, ML companies). Google's share of cloud market smaller than AWS/Azure, but per-cert hiring demand competitive. Coursera GCP specializations cover most of the exam.

For helpdesk / IT staff transitioning to security, the combination CC (free) + Sec+ (DoD requirement) is more cost-effective than CompTIA's pathway alone. ISC2 also gives CC holders 1-year free Candidate membership.

Some find content too basic — covers domains at very high level (security principles, BCDR, access controls, network security, security operations). Treat it as proof-of-interest rather than proof-of-skill.
